Olivia Dirks Transferring
David Vick — July 8, 2021

Olivia Dirks is leaving Penn State for North Carolina. The sophomore departs Happy Valley after a season where she put up numbers good enough to earn her IWLCA first team All-American honors.
While Dirks had a great season individually, her team did not. The Nittany Lions finished a disappointing 4-9, despite winning their first two games.
News of Dirks transferring comes during a successful summer for the Pennsylvania native. She was selected as one of 36 players to tryout for the US national team after making it through a tryout of 60 players.
Although she is listed as a sophomore, Dirks lost most of her freshman season when the pandemic hit. It is unknown if she will use an extra year of eligibility granted by the NCAA.
